About this role
The purpose of this job is to assist in managing the airport’s day-to-day operations in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations and policies. This ensures the safe and efficient movement of passengers. The role demands adaptability under minimal stress during emergencies.
Performs daily checks of the airport’s terminals, concourses, parking lots, curbsides, airport access roadways and other facilities. Works extensively with TSA to ensure safe and efficient passenger movement through security checkpoints. Prepares and presents reports on incidents, complaints, maintenance requests and regulatory compliance.
Communicates effectively and exchanges information professionally with customers, tenants, airport employees and other staff members. Provides operational expertise while maintaining positive relationships with departments and airport stakeholders. Coordinates emergency resolutions and provides updates to executive staff.
Assists with the management of several airport contracts. Requires working shift work including weekends and holidays, with potential holdover and recall for emergencies like inclement weather. Builds hands-on involvement in airport operations and incident management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Administration, Aviation Management, Business/Public Administration or closely related field
- One year progressively responsible experience in airport operations with extensive public interaction
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- Valid Georgia driver’s license at time of employment
- Ability to obtain and maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Customs and Border Protection Seal
- Completion of NIMS ICS core courses (ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700, ICS-800) preferred
- Certification as Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) or Certified Member (C.M.) with AAAE preferred
